Join Dean Klinkenberg, the Mississippi Valley Traveler, for a musical float trip through the history of the Mississippi River. Hear all about river towns, river transportation, monsters, and flooding, with clips from songs about the river and stories of the people and places of the Mississippi Valley.

Dean Klinkenberg is the author of the Mississippi Valley Traveler guides, which includes the Headwaters Region Guide published last year. He also writes the Frank Dodge mysteries; the second mystery, Double-Dealing in Dubuque, was released on July 7.

He is on a mission to explore the rich history, diverse cultures, and varied ecosystems of the Mississippi River Valley, from the Headwaters to the Gulf of Mexico.

No registration is necessary for this event. For more information, please call the Carnegie-Stout Public Library at 563-589-4225, otherwise we’ll see you there (360 W. 11th Street, Dubuque, IA).
