Gifted songwriter and musician JJ Cale died of Friday. If you don’t recognize his name, you probably know songs of his, like Cocaine and After Midnight, both made famous by Eric Clapton. Cale grew up in Oklahoma and judging from his body of work, he knew a thing or two about the Mississippi River. In tribute, here’s a bonus Song of the Day, Down to Memphis that was released in 2009 on his CD Roll On.
