David Allan Coe is a free spirit who has followed an unconventional career path. Nothing wrong with that. He’s also a pretty darned good songwriter. While Johnny Paycheck made the song famous, Coe was the one who wrote Take This Job and Shove It, giving voice to a feeling that all of us have experienced at one time or another. Mississippi River Queen was released on his 1978 album called Human Emotions.
