We’re switching things up for a month at the Song of the Day Department. There are a lot of good songs out there about rivers, even if many of them aren’t specifically about the Mississippi. We normally file those songs away for our personal enjoyment, but this month we’re going to share a few of them with you.
There’s no better place to start than this fine tune penned by the late, great JJ Cale. Ride the River, here a duet with Eric Clapton, was on the 2006 CD The Road to Escondido that paired the two great musicians. (You can read some background on the CD here.)
