Shawnee Kilgore
A while back I was searching through Bandcamp.com for songs about the Mississippi and came across this lovely tune from Austin-based Shawnee Kilgore. It fits perfectly with our August theme of songs that celebrate good times on the river, and what better way to enjoy the Mississippi than spending some time lazing on a riverbank, watching the world float by. She released The Banks of the Old Mississippi on her 2009 CD Second Hand Dress.
